LISA RUBINʼS first obsession was her seventh grade English teacher. She vowed to explore the complicated emotional relationship and became a writer. A true New Yorker, she refrains from telling most people that she grew up on Long Island. Majoring in English at the University of Pennsylvania only confirmed her desire to create bold and exciting original work. She often writes about characters in morally ambiguous situations. Dangerous seductions. Power Dynamics. Passionate connections. She has been told that she writes strong, edgy female characters that are dark, and yet funny. She has also been told that her sex scenes are riveting. She is currently pursuing an MFA at Columbia Film School and has recently been awarded the Zaki Gordon Screenwriting award for her script, Wallingford.
