He took time off from his job as a commercial editor to write and direct a feature film involving accidental prostitution, cremation, and Black Metal music. The very day shooting wrapped, he received his letter of acceptance to the Columbia University MFA film program. Joseph writes "family" stories - narratives no one would mistake as family-friendly - but instead ones based on his firm belief that the most dynamic relationships and interesting conflicts exist within the walls of home.
