Ana Lazarevic is a New York based filmmaker and MFA candidate at Columbia University. She was born in Belgrade, Serbia and raised in Chicago, Illinois. She earned her BA in Communication: Radio, TV and Film at DePaul University in Chicago. Professionally, she has worked in production for daytime content for NBC Universal and as an associate producer for improv theater before working in film. While fundraising for The Runner, she also fundraised for the Anti-Trafficking Center in Belgrade. She raised money for job training programs in Serbia which serve to empower women and thus lessen their likelihood of becoming a victim of human trafficking. She believes in social justice and the importance of good storytelling.
