Born and raised in Belgrade, Serbia. After receiving her Law degree at the Belgrade University, Biljana Ilić studied Art Management and Media Production at the Art Academy at BK University . She started working in the entertainment industry in 1998 as a production manager at the Serbian National TV, and then moved onto production of documentary films (about the recent wars in the Balkans). In her hometown, Biljana founded Theater-Playground, an open–air stage and produced several plays, one of which has been running for nine years. While at Columbia University’s MFA program, Biljana received multiple international fellowships and scholarships, and has made over ten short films in the role of a writer, director and a producer. Her first New York City theater production was a play Life on a Desert Island. Most recently she was a line producer on a feature Romeo and Juliet in Yiddish, which is having a successful festival circuit run. Currently Biljana is producing a feature Half The Perfect World, and developing several independent films.
