Carys Edwards was born and raised in Manchester, England. After completing her B.A. in English Literature at the University of Leeds in 2001 she began to focus entirely on narrative filmmaking. From 2002 to 2005 she worked on content for MTV London, several independent features and short films, documentaries, and local television. In 2005 she moved to New York where she is pursuing her M.F.A. at the Film Division of the Columbia School of the Arts. During her time at Columbia she has written several feature film screenplays and written, directed, and produced numerous short films. In the fall of 2007 she worked in Book to Film development at the Weinstein Company. She is currently working on the second draft of a feature screenplay, with many other projects in development.
