Once a great concert pianist, Maurice Hartmann (David de Keyser) is struggling to stem the tide of oncoming Alzheimer's. The story focuses on his relationship with his daughter, Mandy (Heather Craney), as he prepares for an ill- advised visit from Grace (Harriet Walter), a former love. Having not seen her for several years, he hopes to win her back with his rendition of one of Scriabin's most technically demanding piano etudes.
